| Surf's up: With a lesson, you can have fun from the start
There's no reason to laze on a Hawaiian beach like a sunning monk seal, watching wild, bronzed athletic types surf up a storm. Wouldn't it be great to come back from Hawaii and brag that you, too, caught a couple of gnarly waves? Even at a beginner's level, surfing in Hawaii is a thrill. The warm air, lush green coastline, clear water and the sensory rush of gliding atop a wave make surfing a terrific adventure. But trust me: First get a lesson. With an instructor, you'll have fun the first time out. You will learn essential safety, where to stand on the board, where to look, how to negotiate a wave and how to stay out of riptides and reefs. You'll even learn how to fall so you don't crack open your noggin. For my surfing adventure, I took a lesson on Oahu's North Shore at Turtle Bay Resort from Hans Hedemann, an instructor who competed on the world surfing tour for 17 years.

Ricardo Sanchez to give their response, the same general accused in at least three lawsuits in the U.S. and Europe of authorizing torture and cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment of prisoners in Iraq. This, combined with the Democrats' endorsement of Attorney General Michael Mukasey despite his unwillingness to label waterboarding as torture, indicates that the Democrats are increasingly aligned with President Bush's torture policies. Sanchez headed the Army's operations in Iraq from June 2003 to June 2004. In September 2003, Sanchez issued a memo authorizing numerous techniques, including "stress positions" and the use of "military working dogs" to exploit "Arab fear of dogs" during interrogations. He was in charge when the abuses at Abu Ghraib prison occurred. Brig.

There's a lot of people who spent a lot more on their car that get left in her wake off the line. The looks on their faces is priceless. When it's cold here in MN (like it has been lately), the mileage drops considerably. She only sees about 22-23 MPG in daily use in the cold. .

Quin Harris, one of the top linebackers in the WAC, returns, along with three-year starter Brannon Jackson, who sat out 2007 with injuries. Joining them in the starting lineup could be Zach Schrieber, who transferred from Alabama in the fall. Brian White and Nolan Darby saw plenty of action last year and will see even more time this season. Four newcomers from a year ago add a lot of depth to the linebacker corps, including Kiamni Washington, Dusty Rust, Dominique Faust, and Jay Dudley. The defensive end position will be alm ost co mpletely new with both starters graduating and Wes Day likely leaving early for medical school. Randy Grigsby might be the only returnee with significant playing time. Jared Barron and Matt Broha will be counted on to make a difference in the second year for both in Ruston.
