| Instant Expert: Secrets & Features of iTunes 7.6 (Updated)
Note that as with movie sales, movie rentals are presently only available in the U.S. iTunes Store. The first time you rent a movie from the iTunes Store, you will be prompted with a new set of iTunes Store Terms and Conditions which you must accept before proceeding with your transaction: After indicating your agreement to these new terms and conditions by checking the box and selecting "Continue" you are rather oddly advised to retry your purchase, rather than simply continuing with the transaction in progress: After clicking "Done" you will be returned to the initial store page, and can retry your purchase again from there. When renting a movie, the movie will download as per normal, but will be placed in a new category in iTunes under "Rented Movies." This category will only appear in iTunes when you have rented movie content in your library.
Questioning her sexuality ... At odds with parents over major
I'm 17 and have never had a serious relationship. I find guys boring and I'm pretty sure I'm attracted more to girls. How do I know if I'm a lesbian or not? -- ON THE EDGE Dear O.T.E., Your sexual attractions are personal. Therapist Patty Hayes, MSW, who identifies as a lesbian herself, offers fascinating info. Right off the bat, your non-zesty dating history isn't indicative of your sexual disposition. "Finding guys 'boring' in and of itself doesn't necessarily mean you're straight, gay or anything else," Hayes says. "More than anything, it's a piece of information you have about yourself and your attractions that needs to be considered in a larger context." So how can you figure out who you are? "The first step to understanding who you are involves paying attention to your feelings, thoughts, turn-ons, turnoffs, etc.
A voyage to the edge of the world: Tasmania
I'd made a wrong turn. We were close, but we were lost and about to miss the sunset. I pulled over to ask directions. It occurred to me as I rolled down the window to hail a stranger that a dubious sailor on the Santa Maria might have asked Columbus this same question. ''Excuse me,'' I said to the woman in a wool cap. ``Do you know where the Edge of the World is?'' She didn't blink. She just pointed back to the main road and said, ``Take the next right. Can't miss it.'' My wife, Pam, and I had set out for this place -- the far western tip of Tasmania -- with a sense of adventure, an occasionally misread road map and a wild hair I'd brought from halfway across the globe. We had managed to tack six days onto a business trip to Melbourne last August, which didn't leave us much time to see Australia.

If your computer desktop is anything like mine—and, brother, it is—you've paved over every spare pixel in an iconistan of clutter. Desktop design originated in a wistful visual metaphor, the clean, still work surface, encouraging users to productive ends. Leaps forward in computing horsepower and the rise of constant Internet use has transformed the tabletop terra firma into a cockpit, an antic terminal for the networked self. Our desktops are now a thick impasto of tabbed windows, pull-down menus, dashboard widgets, and application alerts. No possible distraction gets left behind, no link, feed, IM, twitter, or poke unheeded. It's blindingly obvious to note that disarray is one of the defining aspects of the frequent Web user. (I could cite some pertinent statistics, but I don't trust myself to get back to this word processor window.) Ask any designer: Without white space, humans have difficulty focusing.

The Gatehouse survives, restructures
The Gatehouse is a support centre that provides a safe environment for criminal investigations of child abuse, and offers care and understanding to children and adults who have experienced child abuse. Its doors are open 24/7 to police and children's aid societies, which use its facilities and investigation support program without charge. The program helps them carry out child abuse investigations, and tape victims' statements in a child-friendly room. Now, Gatehouse staff plan to add other investigation capabilities in-house, including physical exams, child treatment and court preparation. Its role - to work with the system to fill gaps, but also to provide unique and transformative programs for children. One program has non-perpetrating parents doing creative arts with their children and monitoring the child's behaviour while strengthening the child-parent bond.
